About Yarn2Connect

Everyone deserves to learn and understand the cultural values of Indigenous people and their connection to this land we call home.

WHO ARE WE

About us

Yarn2Connect was founded to support meaningful engagement with Indigenous Australia. We introduce culturally safe protocols, tools, training, engagement techniques, and approaches to assist and support individuals, communities, businesses, and organisations operating within the Indigenous space — or those simply seeking a strong, respectful foundation.

Yarn2Connect proudly plays a vital role in bridging understanding and shaping Reconciliation through the professional services we provide.

We’re about creating a culturally safe space to listen, learn, grow, and practise new skills and capabilities — whether personally or within your workplace. Our tailored approach supports authentic cultural engagement and learning experiences.

At Yarn2Connect, we walk beside you. You are not alone on this journey — let’s take it together.

We are committed to creating a life-long legacy for generations to come.

Let’s Yarn!

No Shame or Blame

We create and offer a safe space for all learners. There are no silly questions.

Cultural Values

All of our learning material and professional services specifically align to our Cultural Values.

Walk Together

Lets take this journey together, lets walk together. You don't have to do this alone.

I'm Malcolm Saunderson

I am a proud Wotjobaluk and Kurnai man from Victoria, Australia.

I have grown up off-Country for most of my life, but I’ve been fortunate enough to stay connected to my culture through my family bloodlines.
This is part of the reason I founded Yarn2Connect — to continue my deep cultural passion, to stay connected, and to support those who haven’t grown up surrounded by culture. “It’s like being disconnected from your identity and purpose.”

Through Yarn2Connect, I aim to inspire and support Indigenous people to stay connected to culture, preserve what we have left, and pass our knowledge on to the next generations.

Throughout my career, I have spent thirteen years working in government — both Local and State in NSW — across the corporate and Indigenous space.
I now work in the private sector, in the Civil Construction industry, focusing on the Indigenous space within a national company.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with many Indigenous people, communities, Native Title groups, and Local Aboriginal Land Councils, building strong, respectful, and lasting relationships.
